Webinar Recap: Mobile Marketing in 2020 and Beyond

On the 30th of September, REPLUG together with Adjust, Snap, and IronSource organized a very interesting webinar to discuss how 2020 has changed the way we think about mobile marketing and the impact it will have, most likely, in 2021.
There’s no doubt that this year, so far, has been a wild ride.
In March, we all experienced for the first time a global pandemic that hit hard traditional and digital businesses across the world. Users’ needs and behavior changed overnight. Organizations struggled to understand what was happening, and most importantly, how long this will last.
On top of that, earlier this year during the WDC, Apple announced that coming September, users’ privacy settings on iOS devices will be adjusted to put users’ interests before advertisers. Specifically, from mid-September, developers had to get explicit users’ consent to track them in the app. If this consent is not granted, app developers will not have access to the IDFA of the users.
Webinar 2020 Recap
With these two main events in mind, together with Adjust, we decided to put together some of the brightest minds in the mobile industry and discuss how these changes affected the way mobile marketers, advertisers, MMPs, and agencies are adapting to a rapidly changing industry.
The webinar was divided into two parts. In the first one, we had our co-founder, Luca Mastrorocco, exchanging opinions with Juanjo Monge (Head of Sales Southern Europe & Benelux at Adjust), Tarika Soni (Head of EU Gaming at Snap), and Yevgeny Peres (VP of Growth at IronSource) around two main topics:
- Key findings and learnings of 2020
- Expected trends and preparations for 2021
The second part of the webinar saw, instead, our other co-founder, Lorenzo Rossi, moderating a very interesting panel with the top three internationally known mobile companies. The discussion was among Carolina Bertini (Digital Marketing Manager at Whatwapp), Luca Stefanutti (Head of Product Marketing at Adidas Runtastic), and Luis de la Cámara (CMO at Genera Games).
The main questions asked were:
- How is each one of the speakers’ companies preparing for the iOS 14
- How COVID-19 affected user retention and prices
- What engagement strategies have been implemented to retain “COVID-19 users”
- Predictions for 2021
