Fonos is the leading mobile app for high-quality digital content and copyrighted audiobooks in Vietnam. With great expansion plans, the Fonos team approached us back in 2022 with the objective of supporting them in scaling efficiently their paid marketing activities, while decreasing their cost per acquisition for subscribers. 

With a clear plan of dominating the Vietnamese market, as well as approaching Vietnamese people living abroad, together with REPLUG’s team, they laid out a long-term strategy that focused on testing and scaling specific channels and concepts. Currently, they are ranked as #1 in both iOS and Android book categories.

Tracking & Attribution Setup

Our team worked closely with Fonos to correctly set up their MMP (Appsflyer), with special attention to the SKAN integration, with the aim of creating as much transparency as possible in data reading and analysis. This process maximized transparency on results for the client, both in terms of costs and revenue generated by each single user.

Omnichannel Marketing Approach

Thanks to our Paid UA Framework, our team was able to review past activities and creative assets and define the best strategy to scale performance and media budget 5x over a period of 12 months. We methodically tested different acquisition channels, new audiences, and new targeting options to bring the best possible results.

Cross-Area Optimization

To increase the paid campaigns conversion rates we helped Fonos optimize different areas not directly related to Paid UA but that helped decrease the final CPA. For example, we gave direct instructions both on app store optimization and onboarding strategy, with best practices and examples from the industry.

Thanks to a close collaboration with the Fonos team, we were able to test new creative concepts bi-weekly and align new concepts month-over-month which allowed us to iteratively test and scale the best-performing channel and concepts.
